The Pilgrim Soul Forge

Join me for a class in Blacksmithing fundamentals.  In the basic 15 hour course, you'll learn the fundamentals of hand-forging. This course emphasizes the use of traditional smithing tools such as hammers, tongs, rasps, files, hot & cold chisels, stakes and anvils.  Use of modern power tools is de-emphasized.

Some of the skills you will learn will be:

Pointing, widening, squaring, twisting and scrolling a bar

Forging matching pieces

Forging with tool steel

Forging sub-assemblies, composing and finally joining pieces into a plant-form.

Safety practices

 This course is meant to serve as a foundation for further blacksmithing study.  Length: 15 Hours (three five-hour days or five three-hour days) Cost:  $375.00
